 Sacred Ceremony
"Before the American Indians were overwhelmed by a
period of great tribulation and suffering, Elders representing principal tribes
met together and determined that some of the teachings were to be preserved by
being conveyed down through the generations orally until they could be practiced
openly again. The Spirit or essence of these teachings was, however,
committed to the Sacred Fires and to the spirits of the Elements in a Fire
Ceremony. During that Sacred Ceremony an assurance was given that they
would be rekindled in another age. That time would come when the Earth,
herself was in trouble and rekindling would include people who were not of Red
Indian Blood. That time is now." --Kenneth Meadows
Sacred Ceremony, in many forms, has been with us since
the beginning of time. It has served the purpose of reminding us of our
connectedness with all of our relations, both above us and below us, tangible
and non-tangible. Through Sacred Ceremonies, we expand ourselves, we connect
with the purest part of ourselves and draw it out into the tangible world. At
this Dawn of the Golden Age, now, more than ever, we find that Sacred Ceremony
is not only a viable means of purifying ourselves, but a necessary means of
purification and stabilization for the planet we call home. In his book,
Pillar of Celestial Fire, Robert Cox describes it this way:
"In order to initiate the new golden Age, the very
life force of the Creator must descend into our midst and be infused into the
depths of our souls and the very fabric of the Earth. The "life force of the
Creator: is not a euphemism. It describes an actual physical-spiritual force
that periodically descends upon our planet in accordance with an ancient cosmic
rhythm. It descends as a wave of luminous subtle matter or celestial fire...
the pillar of celestial fire may be understood as a vast stream of cosmic
life force filled with the divine Presence of God. It's unique function is to
uphold the intimate relationship between Heaven and Earth... This wave already
has been unleashed and now is on its way to our world. When the wave of
celestial fire washes over our world, everything that we know will be changed
irrevocably. The Earth will become infused with the Divine Presence... the
character of the transformation, whether it is gradual and gentle, or sudden and
violent, is within our own hands."
Sacred Fire Ceremonies provide a means for this
cleansing of the planet and ourselves to take place in a gentle, structured way.
We literally voluntarily expose ourselves and the earth to small doses of this
Divine fire and allow it to cleanse our hearts, minds and spirits as it cleanses
our dear Mother Earth. Ceremonies honoring the Spirit in all things, and the
nurturing support of our Mother Earth, we honor and cleanse ourselves. Join us
for a variety of events ranging from Firewalks to Inipi, or Sweat Lodge
Ceremony, and Women’s Moon Lodges. We also feature celebrations honoring the
abundance of our Mother Earth and the great blessing and abundance of
Grandfather Spirit.
